QIMR Berghofer Research Centre

A visit to the QIMR Berghofer center followed by lunch ticked many boxes. 

Learning of the center's history and its many research activities stimulated the grey matter. Exploring the laboratories researching Bowel Cancer  and insect related disease made it all very real. And sitting down together for lunch ensured the fellowship continued. 

Port of Brisbane Tour

How many people can say they have had a behind the scenes look at the Port of Brisbane. That is what our club was able to do this month. A personalised explanation of the activities and functions of the port followed by a bus tour through all the various components of the Port. 

Finished of the visit with a great lunch on the top floor of the Port authority building. 

Certainly a great way to build friendships and learn at the same time. 

A diverse Range of Monthly Activities:

Each month you with have the opportunity to connect with members through:

• A regular Walking group: Put on your walking shoes and head up Kedron brook. Always coffee at the half way mark.
• A cycle group: Whether it is a regular bike, an e-bike or a trike, your welcome to join us along the bike tracks as we explore Brisbane. And there is always coffee along the way. 
• Morning teas: regular Men's and all club morning teas are happening each month. Enjoy the chance to sit an chat. 
• Mahjong and other games: A new addition each month are our Mahjong and other games mornings. Stretch the brain and come and learn or demonstrate your prowess. 
• Lunch catch ups: After each monthly meeting, we adjourn to a local eating place to continue the conversation over a meal.
